Camp Kerala: Glastonbury's V.V.V.V.V.I.P camping site
For some folk, the image to the left will not apply at Glastonbury this year whatever the weather. That’s because they’ll be at Camp Kerala, a compound of 75 “tents” which overlooks the festival proper from a position of opulence most of us could only ever dream of.
When I say tents, I mean tents bought from a workshop started by the Maharajah of Jodhpur. Containing beds with sequinned Indian quilts and bottles of Chateau Margaux. The transport to this luxury goes beyond your mate’s hatchback and a trudge across some fields, too. Helicopters and golf buggies, to be exact. Massages, foie gras and – possibly best of all – hot showers are also the order of the day.
Unsurprisingly such a package don’t come cheap.
