Bad weather won't stop Global Gathering
Global Gathering, which is taking place at Long Marston Airfield, nr. Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th July (basically, that means it’s on this weekend) have issued a statement regarding the recent inclement weather and flooding, saying that the event will definitely go ahead.
Although nearby Stratford-on-Avon has been flooded, Long Marston Airfield – which is said to have “quality drainage systems” – is around five miles from the town and has been unaffected by the floods. As of today, all transport (road and rail) links are completely clear, and the emergency services don’t foresee any problems with covering the event. The festival organisers sensibly advise ticket holders to come equipped for all weather conditions. The campsite – which also has good drainage – is equipped with hot showers and full amenities such as provision shops and bars, and the organisers are confident of being able to host a safe, well managed event.
