Backlash Fodder – Charmparticles

Backlash Fodder

charmparticles.jpgOn ObscureSound, they’re getting all breathy about a band called Charmparticles, noting that they have a “vocalist that soars in rare emotional capacity, a guitarist whose infectiously haunting melodies are in the forefront of each song… Charmparticles appear destined for great things.” Hmmm. They also say that “a band like Charmparticles… are headed for either one or two things: Humiliating backlashes or cult-like followings.” Guess which I’m going for?
When I hear this band, I hear a sappy synth led jangle that has about as much vigour as custard dribbling down the side of a jug. Echoed guitars a la every two bit indie rubbish you hear fill each song in the hope that you may think that their songs are epic. Sadly, these songs are about as epic as kitten farts. This band would be great for, say, a 10 year old girl to listen to before she discovered real music, but those of you with brains and taste, you’d be better of dancing to the sounds of a cement mixer.
