EMI announces Radiohead boxed set – unsurprisingly, it won't include "In Rainbows". Will you be buying it?
In a move exactly as dastardly as you’d expect from a recently-spurned major record label, EMI yesterday announced that they’re going to release a boxed set of Radiohead’s first six albums, plus 2001′s live album, I Might Be Wrong. When? Why, a week after the band releases the “In Rainbows” boxed set, of course!
As a way of showing those go-it-alone innovators who’s boss, the seven CD set will also be released on a limited edition USB stick. See? Record companies do get all this new technology stuff! Seriously though, it is pretty encouraging to see majors embracing the fact that there are alternative ways of “consuming” music these days.
