Bruce Springsteen kind of drives woman to kill her partner
Good Lord. I bet there’s no media outcry over this story, which might annoy the likes of Marilyn Manson and KMFDM, who have in the past been made scapegoats for acts of violence by their fans.
A woman, Karen Lee Cooper, stabbed her partner to death because he stopped her listening to her Bruce Springsteen CD. When she was arrested, Cooper appears to have enquired incredulously: “I mean, who doesn’t like Bruce Springsteen?”
Who indeed? Sadly for the lady in question, most countries – including Australia, where the incident took place – continue to frown upon knifing someone dead, whether the attack is Springsteen-related or not.
Cooper has now been sent down for eight years after she pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Yup, Brisbane Supreme Court sure showed her who’s boss.
