The Raconteurs speedily release new LP while the iron is still hot
Nice to see a band trying to avoid jumping through the same hoops as just about every band around at the moment. Wha’? I’m talking about The Raconteurs, who are getting their record out almost as soon as it was recorded!
They finished recording the album in the first weeks of March and are all set to release it on 25th March. The long-player is called Consolers of the Lonely. According to a statement from the band: “The purpose: to get the album to the fans as soon as possible and as we promised. We wanted to get this record to fans, the press, radio, etc., all at the EXACT SAME TIME so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding it’s availability, reception or perception.”
As it’s out so speedily, the band go on: “Some places couldn’t move this fast, so they will join in as soon as they can.” [via ElectricRoulette]
