the_automatic.gifI bet you thought you’d seen the back of shouty Welsh-rarebits, The Automatic? Thought they’d gone to see Raoul and liked it so much they decided to stay? Or perhaps that sodding monster finally scaled the hill and munched the noisy imps? Well, you were wrong. Still, there’s always hope…
Having spent the first months of 2008 recording their album in LA, the new and improved four-piece have embarked on a UK Club tour, with another bunch of dates set for June. Now with added yourcodenameis:Milo (in the form of new recruit, Paul Mullen) The Automatic will be gracing stages across the country including a festival appearance at The Great Escape in Brighton, along with Laura Marling, Vampire Weekend and a host of other top-rate acts.

Fans of hyperactive Alex Pennie, may be disappointed to know that his “unique” stage presence won’t be replicated. Back in October, James Frost confirmed “Paul isn’t a direct replacement for Pennie. He’s playing his guitar on most tracks, there are some vocal moments from him too… We’re sharing the electronic duties between us … [and] it’s sounding huge.” [via The Automatic blog]
