hidinginhiphop.gifI was always under the impression that, when it came it homosexuality in the music industry, it was restricted to glitter-festooned pop acts and people who sang show tunes. However, in a shocking claim it would appear that there are some rappers who might be gay. Imagine!
Hiding in Hip-Hop: On the Down Low in the Entertainment Industry comes out (arf!) this week Stateside and its author, former MTV producer Terrance Dean, says it will unmask the secret gay culture in the world of hip-hop.

Ah, but no names will be named. The book will, instead, be “filled with intrigue, sexy celebrity bed partners, abundance of drugs, and of course, the down low/gay men and celebrities in the entertainment industry”.
Elsewhere, however, Dean has stated: “I have no desire to ruin anyone’s dreams or careers” – acknowledging that this would probably be the result of revealing any celebrity names.
Does this not sound, then, like just another debauchery-filled memoir from celebville, masquerading as a groundbreaker?
