cahill sex shooter Cahills Sex Shooter video is definitely not about ladies getting jizzed and peed on

Cahill’s “Sex Shooter” is the song equivalent of that point on a Friday when you look at your Facebook and EVERYONE’s status is a variation of “Hooray, it is Friday and I am quite pleased about that.”

Only, when you experience “Sex Shooter” you don’t want to scream “YES I KNOW IT’S FUCKING FRIDAY, I’VE GOT A CALENDER YOU KNOW” - you just want to have a little dance and perhaps indulge in some sex shooting of your own. This is “funky house”, you see.

You’ll be pleased to learn that the video features women shooting each other with fluids, and then a pretty predictable bout of semi-clad cavorting around. Suddenly the term “funky house” has rather more bodily fragrance-related implications.

“Sex Shooter” is released as a single on 9th March. Prepare for the inevitable Daily Mail outrage by checking it out after the jump.

The first thirty-two seconds of Cold War Kids’ “I’ve Seen Enough” video are thoroughly adequate

Music News, Video

The internet connection in our office is complete shit. If internet connections were measured in hundreds and thousands (or “sprinkles”, if you’re a foreign), our internet connection would currently be running at 3 hundreds and thousands.

When have you ever seen 3 hundreds and thousands? YOU HAVEN’T. It is very difficult to come by that few hundreds and thousands. And yet, were bandwidth measured in them, 3 is what we’d be dealing with over here.

All of which is a preamble to me telling you that I literally got bored waiting for Cold War Kids’ new video, “I’ve Seen Enough”, to load. I only got to see the first thirty-two seconds. That is not very fair on Cold War Kids, who I am keen to give another chance after the disappointment of their second album Loyalty To Loyalty. Indeed (snigger) you could say (chuckle) I have definitely NOT seen enough! LMFAOROFLALAOLAOLAOL!

To compensate for not watching the whole clip, allow me to assure you - and Cold War Kids - that when it comes to the first thirty-two seconds of music videos, “I’ve Seen Enough” is thoroughly adequate.

Blame Ringo are a band who have, for their new single “Garble Arch”, created a clever time-lapse video of tourists re-enacting The Beatles’ famous Abbey Road album cover zillions of times over the course of a day.
Ahhh, tourists. You know you’d do it too.

Santana’s “Samba Pa Ti” as played by a 7-year old child who doesn’t need to look at the strings or anything

Forwarding Fodder, Video

The number of child musical genius videos on the internet is fast approaching the number of cats falling asleep videos on the internet. If there are loads of them does that mean they’re not geniuses after all? Does it just mean all the other kids are really stupid?
I was one of the stupid kids, as evidenced by the fact that I can be impressed this Argentinian kid can play so well without looking at the strings.
This version of that song used in the “this is M&S food” Marks And Spencer ads is a year and a half old now, so I suppose I can always hope that having reached almost double figures little Lucciano Pizzichini is now a smacked-out wreck.

Pet Shop Boys’ “Love etc.” is all about love, etc.

pet shop boys Pet Shop Boys Love etc. is all about love, etc.The material from the forthcoming Pet Shop Boys album Yes has been receiving feverish write-ups from Popjustice for a while now. Now us normals can here first single “Love etc” as well, alongside its spanking new animated video.
“Love Etc.” is one of those songs that tells you stuff like “too much of everything is never enough”, which is a theory with a ring of profundity until you realise it’s one that can only ever be proved/disproved by gazillionaires.
So yes, the thrust of the song is that you don’t need this and that, you need love. Which is clearly nonsense, but let’s not allow this to distract from the fact that this is a great pop song and more or less exactly what you’d hope for from Pet Shop Boys’ return. See the vid after the jump.

Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” gets a new, non-bootylicious video

Hip-Hop Isn't Dead, Video

This is the original version of Kid Cudi’s recent hit “Day ‘N’ Nite”, which Crookers took and remixed into a club smash. The weird thing about that song was the video took little notice of the lyrics, which talk of a lonely stoner and aren’t necessarily all that happy-clappy. To see the song put alongside Nuts-style booby-babes was a bit odd, and reportedly didn’t please Kid Cudi too much.
The new video for the original version is more in keeping with the lyrical content, showing Mr. Cudi getting all confuzzled by animated beverages in the supermarket, presumably because he has been mashing his mind with DRUGZ.

Georgia’s Eurovision 2009 entry unlikely to trouble Russian pop charts

Lost In Translation, Music News

Georgia’s entry for Eurovision 2009 - which will be held in Moscow - is called “We Don’t Wanna Put In”, and is a thinly-veiled dig at Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Nothing can go wrong with that. Nobody who speaks out against Russia these days gets into any bother at all. Sure, the countries had a bit of a war-type situation over South Ossetia in 2008, but who didn’t? I’m positive Russia will take this gentle ribbing in Europe’s largest annual televised song contest in good humour, even if it is happening on their own soil.
I’m not sure we can expect the same cuddly approach from The Trammps though, whose “Disco Inferno” provides rather blatant “inspiration” to Stefane & 3G’s ditty. Those 70s disco acts can be fucking brutal.
Listen to “We Don’t Wanna Put In” after the jump.

iphone iPhone technoBox app set to create nation of mobile techno DJs :(So, someone you know has iPhone. You’re happy for them. You’ve emitted an acceptable number of “ooh”s and “ahh”s over iPhone’s shiny loveliness. You’re a little bit jealous. That’s perfectly natural.
Then iPhone starts impacting on your social life. Nights in the pub become distinctly iPhone-centric. If your friend isn’t showing you what iPhone can do, they’re Tweeting, Facebooking, emailing, YouTube-ing.
Go to the toilet and you know that when you return you’re going to need to wait about another half an hour before your companion can tear him/herself away from iPhone. You left them alone with iPhone, you see. Never leave anyone alone with iPhone.
Well, pretty soon your friend’s antisocial iPhone use is going to extend beyond social networking - to creating music. And for that, you will need to thank technoBox.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Zero” could be a chart hero

yeah yeah yeahs Yeah Yeah Yeahs Zero could be a chart hero
Stereogum posted the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs song “Zero”, from forthcoming album It’s Blitz, the other day.
The comments from the none-more-indie crowd are predictably cynical because the song - gasp - features synths and quite shiny production. These elements, of course, mean it could be a huge mainstream hit. Especially if it ends up being plastered over 90210 or Gossip Girl or something. You know, one of those scenes in a club when somebody’s just had their drink spiked?
It might not instantly sound like a hit, but those synths will be stuck in your head very soon…
