tim booth james isle of wight festival.jpgMy esteemed colleague, Shiny Media’s fashion ed-in-chief Gemma Cartwright, went to the Isle Of Wight festival for the first time at the weekend. Seems like a good place to kick off this year’s batch of In-Tents Questioning, yes?
Below Gemma tells us all about her Police obsession and why she’s first person on My Chemical Toilet not to loathe Newton Faulkner.
Kindly tell us your name, age and where you’re from. Now.
Gemma, 24, from London.

Which festival have you recently attended?

Isle of Wight.
Have you attended this festival before? If yes, how does this year compare?
First time for me, but everyone else I was with has been numerous times before and apparently the line-up wasn’t as good as usual, mainly because Saturday wasn’t our cup of cha at all.
Which act gave the best performance, and why?
The Police, because they are The Police. They’re just such professionals. There was no stupid banter, no faffing around, and even though they’re in their fifties they still rocked the 60k strong crowd and got thousands of kids who weren’t even born when they released “Roxanne” singing every word. iggy Win tickets to the Isle of Wight festival with BTWe mentioned the groundbreaking news that BT had been announced as the sponsors of the Isle Of Wight festival a little while back, and now I’m pleased to be able to point you in the direction of a competition to win tickets.

iggy.gifWell, the waiting is over. For months now, seemingly the only thing discussed in music forums across swathes of the internet has been one question: Just who is going to sponsor the Isle Of Wight Festival, which runs from 13th - 15th June? To say the speculation has been feverish would frankly be something of an understatement. Fevers have nothing on this. NOTHING.
So it is with a fair amount of arousal that, only a day after the news was officially released, I am proud to announce that the sponsors of 2008’s Isle Of Wight festival will be… BT!
!
!!!
Congratulations to all involved. If you are in possession of tickets to the festival, or plan to soon acquire them, you should be aware that your experience will now be taking place at the Isle of Wight Festival In Association With BT. But if you think that’s going to affect the fun you’ll have, go and wash your stupid little brain out, you.
