Finally, a sponsor for the Isle of Wight Festival is announced

Well, the waiting is over. For months now, seemingly the only thing discussed in music forums across swathes of the internet has been one question: Just who is going to sponsor the Isle Of Wight Festival, which runs from 13th - 15th June? To say the speculation has been feverish would frankly be something of an understatement. Fevers have nothing on this. NOTHING.
So it is with a fair amount of arousal that, only a day after the news was officially released, I am proud to announce that the sponsors of 2008’s Isle Of Wight festival will be… BT!

Congratulations to all involved. If you are in possession of tickets to the festival, or plan to soon acquire them, you should be aware that your experience will now be taking place at the Isle of Wight Festival In Association With BT. But if you think that’s going to affect the fun you’ll have, go and wash your stupid little brain out, you.

See, the involvement of BT will allow the company to promote its Voice, Broadband and Vision products across the 250 acre site. Would you have been able to sample these delights without BT’s sponsorship? Nuh-uh. Also, BT will be able to use their branding and other promotional materials to bring you competitions, events and - here’s the big one - an official BT chill-out zone.
So, big tings gwannin’ all round then! Also, Kaiser Chiefs, Sex Pistols, The Police, Lily Allen, The Enemy, KT Tunstall, Kate Nash, Iggy and The Stooges, Ian Brown, The Kooks, N.E.R.D, James, The Hoosiers and Scouting for Girls will be playing music there. But don’t let that ruin the experience for you!
