Isle of Wight - Officially the Best Fest

This year’s Isle of Wight festival has been named Best Major Festival by voters for the UK Festival Awards 2007. The Isle of Wight beat tough competition from nine other major events including both Carling Weekenders, Global Gathering, Glasto and V Festival.
For those who didn’t make it, the Isle of Wight saw headline sets from Muse and Snow Patrol, along with some pretty average Amy Winehouse and Paolo Nutini performances, amongst others. What swung it though was probably the festival’s closing set from old school rockers, The Rolling Stones.
I was lucky enough to be there myself and I have to say the gorgeous weather combined with ridiculous amounts of Rosé wine definitely helped. The toilets I frequented were busy but clean once you got in and the late night funfair gave people the opportunity to stay out and disperse at their own pace (or hang around and sustain drunken dodgem injuries).
