This is the original version of Kid Cudi’s recent hit “Day ‘N’ Nite”, which Crookers took and remixed into a club smash. The weird thing about that song was the video took little notice of the lyrics, which talk of a lonely stoner and aren’t necessarily all that happy-clappy. To see the song put alongside Nuts-style booby-babes was a bit odd, and reportedly didn’t please Kid Cudi too much.
The new video for the original version is more in keeping with the lyrical content, showing Mr. Cudi getting all confuzzled by animated beverages in the supermarket, presumably because he has been mashing his mind with DRUGZ.

Kid Cudi didn’t quite hit the number one spot yesterday - Lady GaGa held on for another week - but he did go in at number two with the Crookers remix of “Day ‘N’ Nite”, which is no mean feat.
He spoke to DJ Semtex about his pretty swift rise to success, and although he’s enjoying the exposure and the fact he’s about to sign a huge record deal, you can tell he’s a little ambivalent about the fact that it’s a dance remix that has taken him overground…
This year Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite”, alongside his mixtape A Kid Named Cudi, has gone some way towards pushing the Cleveland rap chap into the mainstream. If you feature on a Kanye West album (Cudi appears on “Welcome To Heartbreak” from West’s 808s & Heartbreak), you’re pretty much set for success.
This rejigging of “Day ‘N’ Nite” by industrious remixers Crookers is being released in the new year and since it’s a bit doof-doof it could see even more exposure for Mr Cudi. Apparently he has an album comi- Holy poop, did that policelady just disrobe in the middle of the supermarket?
