Those Radioheads are canny lads. Sure, they might not be too happy with their ex-paymasters EMI releasing a cynical Greatest Hits cash-in just as they’re about to hit the road. But there are other occasions when the band are a little more willing to work with their former label.
To whit: Radiohead’s back catalogue from their EMI days has magically appeared on iTunes for the first time, but only after the band consented for their albums to be “unbundled” (i.e., for individual album tracks to be sold separately).

What did you do with your bank holiday weekend? Some decorating? Shopping? Crystal meth-ing? Me, I spent a frankly ridiculous amount of time playing about with a website called Mixwit.com.
Now, Mixwit comes hot on the heels of the slightly vulnerable but much-loved Muxtape. The vital difference with Mixwit is that you don’t need to upload any tracks, because it uses a couple of search engines (Skreemr and Seeqpod) to source songs already out there on the web.
So it basically takes The Hype Machine’s aggregating functionality and adds the ability to create as many playlists as you like, for free. You simply search for a song and, from the list of results, drag it to the adjacent field to add it. Marvellous.

Get ready to have opinion split straight down the middle. The Rolling Stones’ classic LP track from Let It Bleed, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, has been remixed by Soulwax. Yep. It’s classic rock with bibs and bobs. The track is for the soundtrack for new flick, 21. David Sardy, the score composer, used the original initially, but felt it was out of sync with the rest of the soundtrack, which features Rihanna and LCD Soundsystem.
You’ll find yourself a link to hear the track over the page…

I think I’ve banged on about this band quite enough, as have a lot of folk over the last few months. Now the album is out, and you may be wondering if it can possibly live up to the praise Vampire Weekend have had festooned upon their preppy asses.
In which case I’d recommend you go to MuchMusic.com, where you’ll be able to listen to it for the grand price of zero pounds. The price is the same in dollars as well, which is a rarity. Baht, too.
For what it’s worth, my favetoid tracks are new single “A-Punk”, the slow-building “Oxford Comma” and the closing “The Kids Don’ Stand A Chance”.
