I’ve always had a problem with the MOBOs. I mean, 99% of everything you hear (or have ever heard) is of ‘a black origin’. I mean, rock’n'roll is black music. Folk is black music (look at Leadbelly). Kanye West was the big winner at last night’s MOBO awards show, scooping two gongs at the ceremony. And I don’t see a Blues section at the MOBO awards either! Still, they exist and we had a bunch of winners last night.
Kanye West did alright for himself, continuing the success of his Graduation LP (currently number one in the UK album chart) by winning the Best Video and Best Hip-Hop accolades at the show. Other winners included Dizzee Rascal, Amy Winehouse and Ne-Yo.
