Time was when bands on the road would spend their “downtime” in debauched pursuits, hardly any of which required the use of pencils, paper and rubbers (well, maybe rubbers). In case you were in any doubt that those days are gone, check out what Girls Aloud have been up to in between tour dates.
On their recent “Tangled Up” tour, after entertaining zillions of people of an evening, the girls rushed offstage to get their pencil cases and started scribbling away to create designs for t-shirts that would best represent them as “personalities”. The t-shirts are in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, which is a charity for sick kiddies.
This t-shirt-designing benevolence project is something to do with Kit Kat Senses, which is something like a chocolate wafer biscuit bar with a hazelnut praline centre developed to offer females a special ‘me-time’ treat with just 165 calories. Something like that.
165 of Girls Aloud’s specially designed t-shirts are being given away every day from 18th August - 3rd October, and you can win one by:
- TEXTING the last four digits from the barcode of the wrapper of a Kit Kat Senses bar to 66226
- ENTERING online at www.kitkat-senses.co.uk
- THAT is about it
So, you know you, yeah? You’re not a pop star, and you don’t spend months at a time on the road with a huge record company breathing down your dirty little neck. So what do you do with your spare time? Do you do anything for sick kiddies? Do you? Or do you just piss about on Facebook, watch Big Brother and blow money online gambling?
Me too.
