Kate Nash on the end of a lewd heckler
Latest hot thing on the block to sing in an overt London accent, Kate Nash, played a tiny wee gig last night at London’s Barfly venue, where she had to deal with a lewd heckle that threatened to ruin the set according to the NME.
The gig was being held to celebrate the tenth anniversary of radio station Xfm. As Nash performed ‘Little Red’ near the end of her set, playing keyboard solo, a male heckler who seemed drunk bellowed: “Get your muff out!” during a quiet moment of the song. Most punters in the venue showed their displeasure at the comment with some hurling abuse back at him (which must’ve help the ambience no end) but Nash responded by saying “Boo”, and finishing the song without breaking stride.
Ryan Jarman of The Cribs, who Nash has been romantically linked with, was watching the gig from the back of the venue. He threw a pint glass at the offending heckler after the show ended… but missed.
