Santogold’s “Light’s Out” is doubly brilliant

This song really reminds me of something, and it’s still driving me nuts that I can’t think of what it is. Or is it just that bit when she sounds a bit like Souxie Soux in general?
Well anyway, it’s a great song and it’s now been accompanied by a great video. There’s just something about that is so… so… now about it. Santogold’s had a steady rise through 2008 - providing the backing for numerous ads and TV shows hasn’t hurt - but this could be the one to send her stratospheric.
