Sienna Miller plays attractive lunatic in The Hours’ video for “See The Light”

Music News, Video

The Hours‘ video for new single “See The Light” is directed by Tony Kaye and stars Sienna Miller, no less. It also features art direction by Damien Hirst (who is the band’s new new label boss at Is Good), which is what the crucified cows on the wall are all about.
Sienna seems to be playing a loony-tune addict who is scrambling about all over the shop (literally - at one point she’s in a department store) in a hospital smock while crying, playing with blood, crying, chucking bags around and crying.
You know a video’s deep and meaningful when a character’s speech becomes audible, and so it is at points in this clip, with Sienna doing a bit of moaning in a therapist’s office. Although her character is so loopy it could just as easily be a dentist’s waiting room.

I’m glad to report that unlike some proper mentalists she doesn’t do any unsightly pooing on the floor or anything. Indeed she is one of the prettiest loons you could hope to see, apart from the well-placed dirt under her fingernails. In fact if you watch for long enough you will see Sienna Miller’s knickers and sidebum, and it’s not every day you can say that.
So all in all The Hours’ new video does a pretty good job of distracting you from the fact that this is a video intended to promote The Hours new song, although it does show that they have enough clout to get Sienna Miller, Damien Hirst and Tony Kaye involved in their video.
Oh yeah, the song’s alright.
