Wired Desire’s Barely Illegal EP promises red hot cock rock thrills

Music News, Up-And-Coming Acts, Video

wired_desire_barely_illegal.gifRemember when The Darkness came out, and people kind of warmed to them because there was no way their rock hystrionics could be taken entirely seriously? You’d have thought that was the end for misogyny-flirting 80-style cock rock, wouldn’t you?
Wired Desire show that this is not the case at all. I mean, look at the title of their EP - Barely Illegal? Really?? What does that even mean?! Ah, who cares.
Then there’s the music itself. To say you can spot a Guns N’ Roses influence in “Damn Hard”, for instance, is an understatement of… um… barely illegal proportions. By this point you might not be wholly surprised to learn that the band’s lyrics are as predictably clichéd as the fact that they sport long hair.
Yep, first time I listened to the band I could barely believe people are still out there doing this stuff… but by listen number three I have to admit I was beginning to fall for its sleazy, hackneyed, JD-swigging “charms”.
See if “Damn Hard” can seduce you over the page…

I have never seen a band more influenced by GNR. The guitar player is a carbon copy of Slash’s style. Leg pump during solo and all. I like them.

Wow. you’re reviewing a band that are most likely about to be the next big thing in rock music, and you say that you dont even realise that there is plenty of classic hard rock out there?
Wired Desire are as Damn Hard and awesome as contemporary music gets, and their live performances would blow away thousands of supposed professional “rock” bands that can hardly even play their instruments…. and every last piece of emo/indie trash.
The resurrection of real music starts with Wired Desire.
