Filthy Dukes collaborate with Plastic Little, ladies in moustaches for “Tupac Robot Club Rock”
Music News, Up-And-Coming Acts, Video
Filthy Dukes do that electro/rock thing that a zillion other people are doing very well these days. But they do it rather well themselves, so let’s not exclude them just because they didn’t get there first, eh?
“Tupac Robot Club Rock” is one of those big, dumb, dayglo club tracks which distinguishes itself from “proper” club music by adding guitars and vocals - which in this case come courtesy of looney party-rap Spank Rock buddies Plastic Little.
So while you may not find lyrics of great depth, you will encounter marvellous lines like “turn the beat up till I can’t feel my face”. You will also come across some rather fine “ohhh!”s which, alongside the “eyyy!”s you’ll find elsewhere in today’s musical landscape, are more or less mandatory in “urban”-inflected party music these days. Eyyy!
The video has numerous nu-ravey accessories present and correct - neon shades, “ethnic” scarves, er, ladies with moustaches. See so below, yo.
