gene Gene Simmons thinks Radiohead are on crack, sells another pair of Kiss cycling shortsNot too many fans seem bothered by Radiohead’s groundbreaking “In Rainbows” hoo-ha. Other musicians, though? Some of them are pissed.
Last week saw Liam Gallagher and Lily Allen have a go at the band, and now Kiss merchandising behemoth - and bassist - Gene Simmons is getting in on the act.
Not surprising really, since he’s pretty much dedicated his career to squeezing every last penny out of his gullible fans. The idea of someone doing the exact opposite was always going to prove tough for Gene to comprehend.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Simmons - whose hair these days looks a little bit like Darth Vader’s helmet - remarks of Radiohead’s actions: “Are you on f*cking crack? Do you really believe that’s a business model that works?”
While the Oxfordshire 5-piece being on crack would maybe explain their singer’s funny eye twitches, there are others who think that the “In Rainbows” experiment is a model that works.
In yesterday’s Observer, John Naughton quoted Princeton University’s Ed Felten, who reckons that, thanks to perfect price discrimination, Radiohead will have extracted “the maximum possible revenue” from interested customers.
Read Felten’s blog post proposing this idea here. You’ll need your economics hat, mind.
