Ladytron’s new single “Black Cat” is menacing digital heaven

Music News, Pop Heaven / Pop Hell

Electronic pop is going through a bit of a boom at the moment with ver kidz gettin’ down and dirty with The Knife and all the Ed Banger rekkids. Oft overlooked are the wonderful Ladytron who have a new single coming out by the name of ‘Black Cat’… and guess what? You can hear it for free!

The track is taken from their forthcoming LP Velocifero, out on June 3. Once more, Ladytron have married steely mechanical beats to brooding clanging synths. It’s Kraftwerk meets Stereolab meets Goldfrapp meets Alec Empire. Basically, that means it’s great. Not only that, but they’re great to look at, and when did that ever hurt a group?

Er…it’s a great track, but Black Cat is the 1st track on the Album “Velocifero” - the new single is “Ghosts” .
