Cee-Lo Green and Jack Black to release cover of “Kung Fu Fighting”, unfortunately

Music News

jack black Cee Lo Green and Jack Black to release cover of Kung Fu Fighting, unfortunatelyGod, I bloody hate “Kung Fu Fighting”. It’s one of those songs I’ll always associate with lousy school discos and stuff - like that “Superman” piece of crap by Black Lace.
Well, get ready to start hating it all over again folks - reports claim that Jack Black and Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo Green are to release a no-doubt-hilarious rendering of it as the lead single for Black’s forthcoming movie Kung Fu Panda. Shouldn’t there be someone in Jack Black’s entourage telling him not to work with children and animals? Even of the CGI variety?

British people may recall an appalling version of Carl Douglas’s disco-fighting “classic” from a few years back. It was by some people called Bus Stop, and featured Mr. Douglas himself alongside a pretty unconvincing young rapper. It was even more depressing than the original, but at least it sets a standard for Green and Black’s (hey! Like the chocolate!) version to beat. And if they can’t do any better, I demand they hand in their Rotund Celebrity Club membership cards and go work in Somerfield.
So nuh.
