New Release - Said Mike’s ‘Stop The Clocks’ EP
I get loads of promos and hardly ever review them on these pages. After hearing Said Mike’s Stop The Clocks EP, it’s a wonder I bother listening to them at all. Said Mike are a young buncha Welsh rockers who like their punk clean, their choruses big and their attitude vacuum packed. The promotional bumf tells me about who they’ve played with… Enter Shikari, Alexisonfire… which should give you a decent indication of what they’re like. In fact, if you like those groups, then you’ll probably like Said Mike.
However, I’m far from keen on this kind of indie/punk/emo stuff. I like my tunes to have bigger balls. I mean, I like my bands to have a bit of danger about them… not to say things like “we don’t write songs about how shit life is for us because we’ve all had decent upbringings… but that doesn’t mean you can’t have problems either”. Awww. Shucks! Someone needs a cuddle. This isn’t going to be a rant about class, but rather, the lack of it. Write about something that isn’t your life. Open your mind up. Paint a picture. Don’t slam yer bedroom door because you knew someone who got bullied at sixth form college. Anyway, Said Mike’s EP is out on the 14th January and you can find out more about the band here.

To be fair this person reviewing clearly has no idea what they are talking about and hasnt paid any attention to the lyrics within the ep. You have probobly played the first 30 or so seconds of the first track and thought, Oh theres no shredding, theres no dragonforce esque style riffage. Clearly a greebing metalhead review.
And also the reviewer clearly is into bands such as metallica, iron maiden, dragonforce, cradle of filth and other random greeb and therefore has an ufair and biased opinion clearly because Said Mike havent got a massive shredding solo or something.
Quite pathetic review to be honest. I hope your writing career gets nowhere as you clearly are tone deaf.
