Empire Of The Sun are one bloke from ace electrotypes PNAU and one bloke from probable MGMT-inspirers The Sleepy Jackson. Since both of these people are Australian, you may now also label Empire Of The Sun Australian.
Now we’ve got the important nationality issue out of the way, I’d like to say that although I’m a couple of months late to hop onto this particular bandwagon, I luu-huuu-huuuurve their oriental-flavoured video for “Walking On A Dream”.

Since the bloke from MGMT sounds a bit like the bloke from The Sleepy Jackson, and Empire Of The Sun have psychedelic elements, you might not be surprised to hear that “Walking On A Dream” sounds a bit like MGMT in places.
It hit the top ten in Australia back in October, so let’s hope that unlike PNAU they have a way of getting some decent exposure in the UK.
I love the ridiculousness of this video and the fact it is performed with an entirely straight face. Any man who can keep a straight face while dressed as a mop-haired samurai IS ALRIGHT BY ME.
