Velvet Revolver willing to replace Scott Weiland with normal person

Music News

Velvet_Revolver.jpgI think the time I’ve spent reading tittle-tattle and pish-posh about Velvet Revolver has now officially exceeded the time I’ve spent listening to their music. Just to recap: Weiland’s “erratic onstage behaviour and personal problems” led to him leaving/being kicked out of the band. Rumours about who would replace him ensued. Slash then put the boot in, claiming he got all schoolgirl on Weiland’s ass by ignoring him for the last month of his time in the band.
Lordy, it’s like Eastenders in Revolverworld, except the inhabitants of Albert Square dress a little better. Anyway, the latest round in this ding-dong has Slash rather vaguely suggesting that the band intend to find their new frontperson from that well-known pool of talent, the internet.

“The band is actually talking about actually building a website [and] doing some auditions via that, so that’s been something that’s developing at this point,” the funny-haired geetarist told Billboard.com.
In other words, some web-savvy marketing person at their label has suggested something Slash doesn’t quite understand. Whatever, I’m getting my cycling shorts and ginger wig ready. In the meantime apparently they’re going to perform shows by pulling in favours from some as-yet-unnamed rockstar buddies of theirs. I just hope they have to audition via upload as well if they want the gig full-time. We need a level playing field here, people.
