Since Jose Gonzalez made a mint from a Sony advert, all the marketers of the world have been pouncing on folkies… and the latest hoping to be propelled into stardom is Simone White. White’s ‘The Beep Beep Song’ provides the soundtrack for the current campaign for the Audi R8 (which will set you back £77,000 if you’re interested).
The ad and its ‘the slowest car we’ve ever built’ tagline has been a TV success, but more importantly, it’s left people muttering “just who sings that lovely little song?” On You Tube alone, the ad has been viewed by no less than 183,000 people in the first two weeks of the campaign.
