Connect Festival adds Candie Payne and Scott Matthews to an already impressive bill

The latest additions to the line-up at this year’s Connect Festival, which is taking place at Inveraray Castle, Loch Fyne, Argyll from Friday 31st August to Sunday 2nd September, showcase some of the most amazing up-and-coming talent that your ears could ever hope for.
Scott Matthews, who recently received an Ivor Novello award for the best song musically and lyrically with his track ‘Elusive’, joins a line-up of artists that include the fabulous Candie Payne, as well as established acts like The Beastie Boys, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Jarvis Cocker, Mogwai, The Divine Comedy, Bjork, LCD Soundsystem, King Creosote, and more.
Other newly confirmed acts to play the festival are The Kissaway Trail and Two Gallants, who will both play the Guitars and Other Machines stage, and the Manicured Noise stage has added the Sleepless Crew and DBLSPK DJs to their bill.

Live Earth, the massive worldwide music event designed to raise awareness of global warming, is happening on 7th July. The London leg of the event is taking place at the magnificent new Wembley Stadium in north London. If we were to list all of the artists performing on the day we’d probably miss the concert, but suffice it to say they include Beastie Boys, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Razorlight, Genesis, Snow Patrol, Spinal Tap, Kasabian and Metallica. The concert will also be available to view live online at www.liveearth.msn.com/concerts.

AHjr.jpgMore acts have been confirmed for the two-day festival Tennent’s Vital, which takes place this year at the new location of Belfast’s Ormeau Park on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd August.
Joining Razorlight and Manic Street Preachers on the Tuesday will be The View, while Mark Ronson and Albert Hammond Jr will both perform on the Wednesday, alongside Kasabian and The Killers.
