Radiohead to play free gig at BBC Radio Theatre
Radiohead are a band who like doing things for free. They gave their album away for nothing, and now they’re gonna play a free gig too. How kind! However, this free gig won’t be a simple ‘just turn up and watch ‘em in a big field’ affair. No. That’s way too easy. Thom and Co are to play a free concert for BBC Radio 2 this April.
The gig is going to take place at the BBC’s Radio Theatre, situated in central London’s Broadcasting House. If you want to see them pelt instruments in the name of music, well, the gig is only for fans who apply for, and win, tickets. So how do you do it? Well, if you’re related to a member of staff at the BBC, you can hope that they break this BBC Trust thing… failing that, it’s time to get on the telephone and push a series of buttons in this special order: 08700 100 200. The gig takes place on April 1… hang on a minute… this ain’t some kind of joke, is it? [via NME]
