Tom Hall (on the left in the pic) is a hairdresser from Hertfordshire. But when he’s not messing with tresses, he likes a bit of festival action. This is his view of the Chelmsford leg of V 2007.

Tom Hall, 25, from St Albans in Hertfordshire.

2. Which festival have you recently attended?
The V Festival in Chelmsford.
3. Have you attended this festival before? If yes, how does this year compare?
No.
4. Which act gave the best performance, and why?
The Killers. Great atmosphere in the main arena, and the lights were pretty cool too.
5. If you could have promoted one act on the bill to headline status, who would you choose? Why?
The acts I would choose were headlining already!
6. Did your opinion of any acts change radically as a result of their performance?
Babyshambles.
7. Nicest surprise / biggest disappointment (music-related or otherwise)?
Nicest surprise was how much fun you can have. Biggest disappointment was
probably Amy Winehouse pulling out of the line up.
8. What was the best heckle you heard?
“That’s not Kate Nash, He’s got a beard!”
9. Any high-quality onstage banter you feel deserves highlighting?
Lily Allen… she should do stand up.
10. What was the funniest moment (music-related or otherwise)?
I think running to see Kate Nash then realising it was a man with a beard!
11. Weirdest moment (if different)?
Some man shouting, “Warriors, come out to play” at the top of his voice at 6 in the morning.
12. Any moments of sheer terror you’d like to share?
There weren’t any really?
13. Anything you wish you’d brought with you?
A pillow.
14. Anything you wish you’d left behind?
Not really.
15. Please mark the following elements out of 10, with any comments:
General facilities: 7/10 - Toilets a bit smelly but nothing as bad as I was expecting.
Crowd / audience: 10/10 - Brilliant atmosphere all weekend.
Food and drink value for money: 5/10
