Man attacked for allegedly disprespectful Dio karaoke performance
If I was on the fence about whether to ever visit Wisconsin - and I wasn't - this story would have made my mind up niiice and quick.
We've all done a metal tune on karaoke in our time, haven't we? In Wisconsin, you better make sure you treat the source material with respect. James Mischler was adjudged to have been too irreverent in his version of Dio's "Holy Diver", and was allegedly attacked by some drunk-as-fuck tooligan with the hellishly appropriate name of Kyle Drinkwine (pictured).
I suppose with a surname like that it was only a matter of time before Kyle did something drunk and stupid, but to save the occasion for someone doing Dio at karaoke? I mean, did nobody do James Blunt's "You're Beautiful", or Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love Of All" earlier in the evening? Much more deserving of a good throttling, surely.
Anyway, Wisconsin is now labelled in my mind as "that place where people become incensed if you don't show Dio enough respect". Straight to the bottom of my list of potential holiday destinations, Wisconsin.

And straight to the top of mine!
