Oh yeah, I was supposed to go and check out Bright Eyes' back catalogue at some point in my life, wasn't I?

If you've previously been put off Conor Oberst's/Bright Eyes' material due to its perceived self-conscious schmindieness, this little number will likely come as a very pleasant surprise.

"Souled Out" is basically a rather good country rock song, complete with widdly guitars. And Conor actually seems to be enjoying himself a little bit, which is always nice to see in an artist previously considered somewhat po-faced.
