Which tampon brand is mental enough to sponsor Courtney Love's new album?

Now, I'm no marketer. However, I would imagine that if you were a brand of tampon manufacturer, and you were to align your product with a celebrity, you'd want that sleb to be fairly... stable?

I mean the last thing you'd want would be for your lady product to be associated with someone who kind of has a tendency to reinforce negative and unfair female stereotypes. You know, you'd want someone who doesn't fly into irrational rages, or get pissed up and write furious, over-sharing blog posts.

So it's rather interesting to read that an as-yet unnamed tampon manufacturer has joined an as-yet unnamed tequila manufacturer in putting some money behind Courtney Love's forthcoming album, Nobody's Daughter.

Apparently the amount of moolah being flung at la Love totals $30 million, which should cover the cost of a mountain of Vicodin some fun viral marketing campaign or something.

To be honest though, the person who broke this news doesn't fill me with confidence. As reported by The Guardian, the (you guessed it) unnamed source describes Courtney as "sober, clean, classy and very elegant and sophisticated and super intelligent". How does (s)he know this? Because (s)he has "spoken to her on the phone [and] met her many times." Doesn't suggest an especially close relationship, does it?

Well, whatever. Until the tampon sponsorship is disproved, let's just sit back and dream of a day when The Courtney Love Tampax/Lil-lets/Kotex Live Experience rolls into town. See you down the front bottom.
