Festivals round up: Big Chill, Live at Loch Lomond, Lollapalooza - that was the weekend that was

sunset%20big%20green.jpg

For once during an English festival summer, the weather was flipping gorgeous. So that means everything ran completely smoothly at the weekend’s festivals, right? Well almost…

- Beautiful weather meant that The Big Chill went pretty much without a hitch… but also without Mika. He pulled out at the last minute, blaming a potentially career threatening throat infection. As dramatic as that sounds, it did not wash with unsympathetic fans, according contactmusic. It seems like a valid excuse, but then again Mika had (rather unwisely) previously announced he wasn’t exactly looking forward to the summer’s festivals, so who knows!

Big Chill in the words of Big Chillers

Going to The Big Chill? Well, here's a video of people from a previous Big Chill talking about Big Chilling with the Big Chillers. Expect music and wackiness.

Things to look forward to at this weekend's Big Chill

Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire’s Malvern Hills is warming up for this weekend’s Big Chill festival – though I use ‘warming’ merely in terms of excited anticipation, rather than heating up the globe.

Fresh from taking the festival global in April when they did a two day stint in Goa, Big Chill organisers are back on UK soil and ready to party – in a chilled out, non confrontational fashion, of course.

Tangerine Fields provide pre-pitched tents for lazy festivalgoers - bookings still available for T in the Park, Latitude, Carling Weekend

If you got to Glastonbury on the Thursday full of smug happiness you'd bagged a bargain on your tent, and left on Monday a soaked-though, mud-coated, cursing mess, then you'll think Tangerine Fields is a great idea.

They're a tent company who'll rock up early to your chosen festival, pitch your tent and it'll be all warm* and cosy* by the time you arrive.

*inside, at least. They're not magicians.
