With just a few days to go until Glasto, the rumour-mill is cranking up good and proper. NME have reported today that, after Pete Doherty and Carl Barat collaborated on a Beatles cover at the weekend, and seeing as both their current bands will be performing at Glasto, they could reunite onstage at the 177,000 sellout festival. It wouldn't be the first time they've performed live together this year - a gig at the Hackney Empire in April saw Barat join Doherty for a few songs.

Meanwhile, Michael Eavis CBE has been speaking about the measures he and his team have taken to try and minimise any mud problems at this year's event. Approximately £750,000 has been spent on new drainage pipes and resurfacing work in an effort to avoid the kind of mudbaths that have almost come to epitomise the event.

Of course, the weather is always a prime concern for Glastonbury. Eavis seem to think it will be fine, but the Met Office seems to think otherwise. It's not all bad though - there are some sunny icons in there amongst the rainy ones... To make it easier to check the weather, we have thoughtfully placed a link to Metcheck's Glastonbury's forecast over there on the right. It will be there all week. In't that nice?

The charitable project Give Me Shelter will be hoping for enough precipitation to encourage some folk to leave their tents behind - they plan to send the material to those in impoverished countries who can reuse it. Hope they're not banking on Shirley Bassey leaving behind a luxury tent - she's nicking off straight after her performance. But that's what we want from our divas, right?

At least our Shirls is performing. West country faves The Wurzels have thrown a strop at not being given a slot on one of the main stages, and will now deprive festivalgoers of their talents. So if you have a ticket, you'll have to make do with The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Bloc Party, Amy Winehouse, Bjork, Manic Street Preachers, The Who, Arcade Fire, Paul Weller, The Stooges...
