The Who headline Merseyside's Knowsley Hall festival on 23rd & 24th June
This coming weekend is going to be dominated by Glastonbury, but believe it or not there are one or two other things going on as well. Hyde Park Calling is one of them, but there's another non-camping 2-dayer on offer - Knowsley Hall festival will take place on Merseyside, and is being organised by the guys behind Creamfields and Rockness.
The lineup mixes current and classic artists, with The Who, The Coral and The View amongst the acts playing Saturday, with Sunday featuring Joss Stone, Keane, The Zutons and Madness. There's also a MySpace stage for less established acts, with The Black Velvets headlining. Last week the event officially got the go ahead from Knowsley Council, which will be a relief for promoters and fans since tickets have been selling for a while already.
Tickets are still available for a fair old whack here, while eFestivals has a list of confirmed performers.
Below you can see local lads The Coral performing arguably their best song, "Dreaming Of You", on Jools Holland. Click through to YouTube for amusing arguments about whether Pete Doherty wrote it (?!).
