Last Weekend's Festival Round-up: Day 2

feeder01.jpg

It’s day two of the comedown from the sunniest festival weekend so far, and here’s a full round up of the goings on.

- The first ever Redbourn Festival didn’t exactly set the Herts County Showground alight, according to the Herts Advertiser. It suffered from technical glitches, bad planning and a low capacity, blamed on bad organisation of ticket sales. But hey, at least the sun shone for Feeder and co.

-Bristol’s boutique festival Bloom was so special it even got shooting stars. The organisers lucked out by coinciding the final day of the festival with the predicted Perseid Meteor shower.

- Crowds of 11,000 were expected at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival at Beauly near Inverness, but they managed not to spoil the area’s beauty spot status. It was a family affair, with three sets of siblings and five children of well-known singers performing in their own right. How homely.

- More from Underage – the London festival’s under 19s policy was so strict, even reporters were asked to prove their youth to gain access to the site. Surely any music event that Fearne Cotton and bloody Peaches Geldof are too OLD to get into should get a round of applause?

- Following the immense queues for facilities at the Field Day Festival, as reported by MCT, plus rumoured problems with sound, the official MySpace site of the organisers has received a barrage of complaints. So they’ve responded with an official statement (which sounds an awful lot like a grovel to me.)

- Meanwhile my favourite-named summer event Endorse-It-In-Dorset seemingly went so smoothly, no-one has written a word of bad review about it on the internet ANYWHERE. Even the official MySpace site is full of gushing praise.

And that’s your lot. Enjoy the rain now, won’t you…
