Sonic Youth, Klaxons and Dinosaur Jr campaign for independent radio

sonicyoof.JPGKlaxons, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and The Rapture are among the bands featured on a new compilation benefiting independent radio in the US. The CD, which is due out in the US on October 10, also includes tracks from Annuals, Rogue Wave, Dntel, The Long Winters, The Ponys and Voxtrot.

The bands all took part in the Free Yr Radio campaign series of concerts held earlier this year. All profits from sales of the CD will be divided among the non-commercial radio stations that took part in the campaign, including WLUW (Chicago), WERS (Boston), WBWC (Cleveland), KGNU (Boulder), and KXLU (Los Angeles).
