Can You Gig It?: The Blow @ The Hope, Brighton, 23.10.07

THEBLOW.gifIsabelle O'Carroll is the editor of Shiny Media's amaaazing menswear blog, Brandish. She knows what's what, and what isn't what. Here she answers questions about her latest musical obsession, The Blow.

How did you rate the venue?

I'd never been to The Hope in Brighton, but I liked it. It was small and reminded me
of the long lost Freebutt.

What were the crowd like?

Trendy, student-y but friendly.

Was the support act any good or did it send you to the bar?

Jacob's Stories - I've seen him before and wasn't bowled over, but his inter-song banter was tresemmé good.

Bar – rip-off or value for money?

OK, but the cider was a little off methinks. That's my excuse, anyway!

Venue staff – nice or nasty?

Nice.

Toilets – swilling with piss, or spick and span?

The toilets were clean and bright.

Highlight / lowlight of show?

The best bit was Khaela's dancing - totally out of time, but it somehow still managed to be brilliant.

Any other comments?

I also saw The Blow last week, and I'd see them again and again.
