This weekend's festival preview round up

Ding ding, all aboard for a round up of what's going on this weekend in the world of festivals. (Big Chill info is in a separate post, just in case you're panicking).

Live At Loch Lomond – The new 2 day festival plays host to Faithless, 2manyDJs, Calvin Harris and Feeder as well as local electro folksters Kobai. The latter are hoping to avoid a repeat of the traffic madness that nearly saw them miss their slot at T In The Park. The only obstacle this time round is that a Sunday evening slot apparently gives them too much leeway to get wasted before their call time. How very rock n roll.

Festivals Update: Spice Girls sad to miss Diana concert, The Guardian guide to boutique festivals, possible T in the Park travel chaos

- A rail strike is threatening travel chaos for the opening day of T In The Park

- The Istanbul leg of Live Earth has been cancelled due to lack of funds. Don't worry though, Turkish people - they're putting up big tellies for you to watch

- The Guardian has a handy guide to "boutique" festivals today - it includes Green Man, Wakestock and The Secret Garden Party

- Preston won't let a little thing like divorce get in the way of performing at Kent Music Festival this weekend, the trooper

- Underworld will headline Wild In The Country this weekend - you can read an interview with them here

The Feeling, Ghosts headline Kent Music Festival this weekend - tickets still available

thefeeling.gifThe good thing about there being approximately 45,000 festivals this summer is that you're more likely to get tickets to the less well-publicised ones. Take the Kent Music Festival, which takes place this weekend at Port Lympne, near Folkstone. Tickets for the non-camping fest are still available at the time of writing, and at shockingly un-extortionate prices, too.
