Underage Festival bags Gallows, Horrors, Foals and more

The Underage Festival. What a good idea that is. No, seriously. I know that I can be sarcastic sometimes, but hell, if you're 14 and you're sick of kicking out the jams in yer room or being chucked out of pubs, this is a godsend. So, with that, if you're 14 - 18 years old, who can you watch?

Well, Gallows have been chosen to headline this year's festival, which takes place in Victoria Park, east London on the 8th August. There are loads of other bands on too, some of 'em pretty big names... Highlights including The Horrors, Sons and Daughters and the very fashionable Foals. Who else is on? Read over for a long list of bandnames.

Last Weekend's Festival Round-up: Day 2

feeder01.jpg

It’s day two of the comedown from the sunniest festival weekend so far, and here’s a full round up of the goings on.

- The first ever Redbourn Festival didn’t exactly set the Herts County Showground alight, according to the Herts Advertiser. It suffered from technical glitches, bad planning and a low capacity, blamed on bad organisation of ticket sales. But hey, at least the sun shone for Feeder and co.

Festivals round-up: Field Day and Underage festivals hit London

underagefest.gif- The Telegraph's correspondent is somewhat bemused by the mature behaviour of those future Telegraph-readers who attended the Underage Festival

- Punters at the inaugural Field Day faced lengthy queues at the bar and bogs. But at least the organisers quickly acknowledged the fact and promised to do better next year...

- MTV, meanwhile, concentrate on the music from the event, which went down pretty well

If you attended any of the UK's festivals this weekend let us know what you thought by applying to complete some In-Tents Questioning!

Field Day, Underage Festival, Bloom, Redbourn - this weekend's festival preview round up

01batforlashes.jpg

The weekend is nearly upon us and the sunshine looks like it’s going to last right through! So I thought I’d give you a round up of some other good news about the next batch of festivals. Here goes…

- The Underage Festival – the UK’s first for under 19s – is gearing up for its launch at Victoria Park in London at midday today. Mercury Music Prize nominees The Young Knives are set to perform, alongside just-announced acts Lethal Bizzle, Jack Penate and The Maccabees. There’s so much info there’s a whole separate post about it on this site!

Preview: This afternoon's Underage Festival

This afternoon’s first ever Underage Festival in London’s Victoria Park has got an unenviable task. How do you entertain the world’s most hostile audience (teenagers) and be alcohol-free and strictly under 19s while still maintaining an aura of cool? It’s a toughie.

I wouldn’t want the job, but organisers seem to be stepping up to the plate. First tick in the box for them is a massive and frankly impressive line up. Radio One is hosting a stage, as are MySpace (naturally) who have been busily promoting the event.
