Funny that I should get a press release concerning The Smashing Pumpkins as I was only just listening to Siamese Dream earlier. Anyway, enough about me, Corgan and Co have hinted to fans that they could have brand spanking new material released in just a few weeks, on January 1.

Drummer Jimmy Chamberlain has posted a message on the Pumpkin's official website saying “we are back in the studio recording some songs for a possible release worldwide,” he wrote. “Look for these around the first of the year. Busy Bees!” There is no indication if the new stuff will be available to download (likely) or whether they'll sneak a release out. You can judge a Pumpkins' tune by the amount of hair on Corgan's head... so let's just hope he's grown some back and we can enjoy some vintage angst.
