Would you pay a fortune to see Michael Jackson at London's O2?

It looks like it's definitely happening, folks. Several reports are speculating strongly that MJ is coming to London for a month this year, and not just to have Hamley's shut down so he can stock up on Harry Potter merch.

So here's the question. Would you go and see Michael Jackson in his current incarnation? You know the tickets will be around £50 / £60 at the cheapest. Would you pay that to see a tarnished music legend, who may / may not have new material, and who some unkind types claim is now held together with Post-it notes?

For my part, I reckon I would. It's not often you get the chance to see a genuine music legend - and arguably the era during which Jacko was at his peak was the last period in which genuine, globe-straddling pop colossi existed.

I already regret not seeing Prince last year, and every time I don't get tickets to see the Stones I kick myself a little. But then what if Micky Jack hasn't learned his Jarvis Cocker-taught lesson, and starts all that faux-saviour shit? You know there's a pretty high likelihood that his live show is going to feature some messianic allusions, which would make me shift uneasily in my comfy seat, however great the view. I mean, even people who have collaborated with the guy think his behaviour is a little questionable...

But then against all that you can just say: "Bad". "Billie Jean". Moonwalking. "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough". "Beat It". Assuming he's in decent shape, and is up to a gruelling month-long slog, surely it's no contest?

Would you shell out to see Jacko live? Vote in our poll over at PollsBoutique.

How often does Jackson tour? Not very often! Ofcourse I would go and see him! He's a friggin' legend, he may be somewhat weird, but nothing beats his music. It would be mad cool to see him do all his hits, especially Billie Jean and Beat It.

Absolutely i would pay to see him live. The man is a a living music legend. Regardless of what you think of his personal life musically nobody has even come close to surpassing him.

1)Madonna performed on the Cross, which is a sacred symbol of Christianity and the passion of Christ; where was Garvis Cock-ass then?
2) The Rolling Stones have yet to gather moss, apart from the fact that they are older than God! You wanna check out whether they are fit to perform also?
3) Or would you rather I pay this amount to c todays mediocrity, where the media professes with critical accolades artists like JT who cannot be compared to Jackson at any stage of his career (look at off the wall/ thriller/ bad/ dangerous/ history videos - MJ is just absolutely on another level of WOW!)
4) Its simply hate and jelousy for a black man who has don it ALL! MJ is a force of uncomparable magnitude. Period.

To StewartW who put this article up he has a name ya know and it's JACKSON not 'jacko' would it kill you to refer to him by his birthname?

Posted by: Jason | January 13, 2026 12:32 AM

It would not kill me, no. It would be a bit boring though. I would wager that Mr. Jackson is referred to as "Jacko" as much as, if not more often than he is "Jackson". I think people know who I'm talking about.
