Electric Proms announce Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs & Jamie Cullum

The BBC have announced some of the acts confirmed for next month’s Electric Proms. The five day Camden festival is spread across eight venues and 80 different acts will perform, though not in their usual style. The aim of the event is to ‘create new moments in music’.
Among the highlights announced this week, Mark Ronson will rework tracks from his album Version… already a reworking of other artists’ songs. Jamie Cullum will duet with Japanese jazz monkeys Soil & Pimp Session, and Sigur Ros will premier their documentary film Heima with a special acoustic set. The Kaiser Chiefs will get stuck in too - teaming up to perform with Bond score maestro David Arnold.
Digital Spy quotes Arnold on the vibe of the event: “Hopefully, under the umbrella of the Electric Proms, we can throw away the rule book of what you can or can't do with a rock band and a bunch of musicians that you may not expect to see on stage with them."
Tickets go on sale on 12th September from midday and details are on the official Electric Proms website. Check back over the next few weeks and we’ll keep you updated as the Beeb confirm more of the line-up.
