If you're one of those moaning Michaels who thinks Jay-Z doesn't belong at Glastonbury, or you just don't fancy bathing in mud and faeces this summer, you might want to consider checking out France's Rock en Seine festival.

It takes place over two days on 28th & 29th August, and is rather conveniently placed just outside Paris. Two-day tickets are a scandalously reasonable 75 euros - especially when you see who's performing...

The first names announced for Rock en Seine are all heavyweights: Amy Winehouse, R.E.M, Justice, The Roots, Serj Tankian, Kaiser Chiefs and The Streets will be there to entertain you. Also The Dø, who are apparently very popular on the continent but have as yet failed to cross my ignorant little path.

Of course there's a train that goes all the way to Paris from London these days. Whether the cheapness of Rock en Seine justifies the price of a Eurostar ticket is up to you to decide...
