Wogan thinks that the French will be hurt by Sebastien Tellier Eurovision entry

Personally, I don't understand the fuss being made over Sebastien Tellier's Eurovision entry. Sure, it's a daft, fun pop song... but aren't they all? Anyway, Terry Wogan has thrown his tuppence in and suggested that our French cousins will be "hurt" by their entry for this years Eurovision song contest. Wogan, as we all know, is probably the person who will know more than anyone about this, by virtue of the fact that he's been hosting the show for nearly one million years (approx). Wogan said that the French will be disgruntled because they're "very very proud of their language".

"It's the thin end of the wedge here because the French insist that the Eurovision song contest is always conducted in three languages," Wogan told BBC 6 Music. "But the French always insist that it be announced in French as well so they're going to be very hurt about this."

This isn't some random rant as Tel's comments follow reports from France that claim that the country's culture minister is livid by the decision to allow Sebastien Tellier to represent the country. Teller's song, 'Divine', which features English lyrics, was selected by the French television channel France 3 earlier this year. "Our fellow citizens don't understand why France is giving up defending its language in front of hundreds of millions of television viewers around the world," MP François-Michel Gonnot told a meeting of the UMP party.

So what do you reckon? Much ado about piss all? Do you love it? Couldn't care less as the Eurovision is a big pile of plop anyway? Hate it? Let us know in the comments.
